The United Nations System in Trinidad and Tobago is a family of nine offices that collaborate with various stakeholders in order to fulfil respective international, regional, sub-regional and national mandates. One of the System's priority for this Member State is providing support to the Government of the Republic for the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals

UNITED NATIONS PROVIDES TRAINING TO TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO GOVERNMENT FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF SMALL ARMS

10 to 21 October 2011 the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs' Regional Centre for Peace, Disarmament and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNLIREC), in cooperation with the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, is trained security sector personnel and destryed firearms and ammunition.  This project was part of the UNLIREC Caribbean Assistance Programme, launched in Trinidad and Tobago in July 2010.

The Unied Nations works at multiple levels in T&T. It is involved with Government and goverment offices, educational institutions, civil society and NGOs.

The areas of work include the Millennium Development Goals, Human Rights, Development, Health and much more.
